Free Hugs. I love this campaign. Every time I watch the video, I can't help but cry. It gives me hope for humanity. Just the fact that one man was willing to become vulnerable for the chance to make someone smile. And the reminder that people really do crave human contact--we actually need each other, yet many times we're afraid or ashamed to admit it.

Sometimes, all you need is someone who cares. I wish more people would be like Juan Mann. It's touching.
And, right now, I could really use a hug.

I have a goal for Memorial Day weekend. I'm not going to post it here, but I've decided to reach said goal by going to the gym three times a week. It might seem rather simple to most, but it's a challenge with my busy schedule. I've never been (nor will I ever be, I'm beginning to believe) a morning person, so I tend to go to the gym after work. Normally this is fine, but with days like today--when I return home at 9--it's quite difficult. I hope I can stick to my plan. Inspirational comments are always welcome.
In other news, I'm thoroughly enjoying my book, Who on Earth Was Jesus? It creates a constant desire in me to research Biblical history. I've always been fascinated with the history of the Catholic Church, and this just adds another slice to the proverbial pie. I wish there were more hours in the day to read. I think it's sad that many people no longer take the time to read... books, not articles on the Internet, not blogs... real books from real libraries and bookstores. Nothing online can compare to the feeling of opening a new book. Not to me, at least.
Speaking of not enough hours in the day, work has been stressful lately. I recently, as of this week, began doing the marketing for the other company that our marketing department handles. Yet at the moment, I'm doing marketing for both companies... finishing projects for one, while making sure that I know everything about the other. Fun times for sure. But don't get me wrong--I'm extremely thankful that I have job, and I like my job. This portion was more to explain the difficulties in succeeding with my gym goal, and my desire to spend more time reading. :)
I should sleep soon. Tomorrow will be filled with meetings, snow and hopefully a few drinks after work. We'll see. I'm supposed to attend a concert, but I don't know if I'll make it down that far (as in down to Union Square after work).
Until I write again!
